Looking to make money online?
Learn how to make money selling on eBay.
Doba (Doba.com) is a well known dropshipping company that boasts ease of use, wholesale prices, high profit margins, and name brand products. With these benefits, Doba claims that their users can easily list products on eBay or their own online store and sell for a profit. Doba gives the opportunity for users to test their lofty claims by providing a free trial of their services. Taking advantage of this, we thoroughly reviewed Doba.com, and you may be surprised at what we found.
The main selling point that is made throughout Doba's website is the claim of excellent wholesale prices far below the products' MSRP. The front page displays examples of these goods, and the displayed wholesale price is a fraction of the MSRP, suggesting that these products are being sold at a steep discount. To see more products however, one must be a Doba.com member.
After creating account to perform a Doba review, it was extremely easy to navigate through the products and compare brands, styles, and prices. With the "Push to eBay" option, it was also very easy to place items for sale on eBay. However, it was also very apparent that, at least on the products that we evaluated, there was little (if any) profit to be made. This is because Doba greatly inflates the so-called MSRP of items. In this way, the company misleads their users by allowing them to believe that they can get a much higher price than what is truly possible. While the price may be below what Doba claims to be the suggest retail price, the going rate for these items is much, much lower.
We ran an eBay search for some of the items that we found on Doba.com, and we found that they were very rarely selling above Doba's cost. Therefore, when taking eBay and shipping costs into account, one could could actually lose money from attempting to sell Doba's products.
We Recommend THIS Product As An Alternative.
In addition to being one of the poorest dropshippers on the internet, they are among the most expensive. Doba's fees START at around $30/month, and they go up from there. You pay every single month to use Doba.com, contrary to many other dropshipping services that are much better. However, this is not the only way that Doba gets money from its users; in addition to the monthly fee, Doba takes a small percentage of each sale that is made. This is money that could be used to slash their prices and therefore increase the profits of their users.
After performing the Doba review, we here at DropshipProfits.org couldn't help but be extremely disappointed. We find it hard to believe that anyone is making good money, and it is even harder to believe that one could fund a retirement, as they claim on their website at the time of this writing.
Before giving Doba a shot, consider the following email that was submitted to our staff:
"I have to tell you that my experience with Doba is THE WORST that
I've ever had in my nearly 10 years of buying/trying/selling and doing
business online. I set-up an account with DOBA and then attempted to cancel
by email within my 7 day trial period. They responded, telling me that I
couldn't cancel by email and provided a toll-free number to call. The number didn't
work from Canada, so I emailed them again. No response. I emailed again. No
response. I tried their Live Support, got a "real" phone number and called them. I
got their voicemail and all boxes were full, so I couldn't leave a message. In the
meantime, they charged my credit card. I called my credit card company and
filed a dispute. They told me to send a registered letter, which I did.
They received it and then charged my credit card again (for the second time)
a full 2 - 3 weeks later. Needless to say, I called my credit card company
and complained that they hadn't stopped this unauthorized charge. In the meantime, tell EVERYONE to stay away from Doba. They are not ethical, moral or responsible business people."
We suggest you read about some other dropshipping services. Doba is simply not the answer if you are looking to dropship to make money online. Stay away from Doba.com! We Recommend THIS As An Alternative.
