Suppose you found a wholesale supplier that lists baseball gloves for sale at $40 apiece. With a little research, you find that similar gloves sell for an average of $50 on eBay. Therefore, there is potential for a $10 net profit per glove. You then list the glove on eBay, and the winning bid is $52. After receiving payment, you place an order from the distributor and have the glove shipped to your buyer. You keep the $12 profit and never hold inventory. Even better, if you ran a website about Little League baseball, you could list your gloves at any price that you determined.

This is exactly how to make money selling on eBay. Let’s break down the above example into steps:

  • Find a product to sell from a distributor.
